Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could ask for some more help with my ferret who is in reanl failure. She is grinding her teeth very badly and we are hanging in there except for that awful problem. I have treated her for an ulcer (carafate and amoxi) She has been on carafate for months and it is just getting worse? I tried pepcid for 4 days to see if that would help but no improvement. I do not know what else to do? Is it pain? Is it the kidney failure and not her tummy? My vet said all that she could recommend would be pain meds at this point? What pain med do I use? We decided against subQ injections. She is drinking and we give extra fluids. I just did not think it was fair to her to stick her everyday and she is a horrible patient. Scruffing her does not contain my little 8 year old worm! She does not seem ready to let go yet. I want to make her comfortable. The grinding is horrible and it breaks my heart to not know how to help her. I feel so bad that our vets out here can't
help us. Please any suggestions would again be greatly appreciated. Thanks
