In relation to your ferret with the eye, yes, have a vet appointment. One guideline a physician long ago taught me (which does not always hold but is often useful) is that if eye or nasal mucus is yellow or green take the possibility of a bacterial infection seriously. if it is brown think of bleeding, bacterial infection, or both.
