Hello all! My name is Amanda and about a month ago my 3.5 year old boy Edga=
r had his left adrenal removed. The right appeared fine as did all other or=
gans. I just have a few questions and concerns that others who have been th=
rough this might be able to help me out on.
1. How old were your ferrets when their first adrenal surgery was done?
2. Did they end up having both removed? If so, how soon after the first?
3. Did you have them on medication after first surgeey like Lupron?
4. Did all of their hair grow back, or just some?

I ask because although Ed is doing great, Only hair is growing back on his =
belly where they shoaved him for the surgery, and a little on his tail. Bet=
ween his shoulders where he was thinning really bad is not coming in, nor i=
s the hair on the underside of his tail. Only the tip is growing a little. =
It has been almost a month since the surgery. I know, I am a woory wort. I =
also saw him mount my little girl last night, though I don''t know if this =
was an attempt at playing, or sexual aggression. I pulled him off and he di=
dn't do it again. I am worried that his right gland will become/is infected=
, though it looked fine during surgery. I am also worried that I jumped the=
gun on doing surgery, as I have heard from ferret shelter moms that surger=
y often leads to many other problems and shouldn't be done on a whim. Ed is=
only 3.5 years old and I want him to enjoy his life and live as long as Go=
d permits him. I am just scared and worried, as I have never been through t=
his before. Thank you for your time and patience with me. Ed is currently d=
one with his post surgery med's (amoxi and pred) and is back to his melaton=
in regimin. Any advice you may have for be would be wonderful. Thanks again=
!
Love, Amanda and her ferts
