I have sent this to Dr. Williams, but in case he's not near his computer, I=
'm hoping someone on the list can give me some insight or advice on this.

Mugwart had a cyst on his right side, just behind the shoulder blade which =
was removed the middle of August, I think. The vet thought it was a bite f=
rom Arwen that had gotten infected, as when I took him in it wasn't all tha=
t big, and my vet tried to lance it, but Mugwart would have none of that. =
So I took him in for surgery, and he wound up having and inch to an inch a=
nd a half incision on his side! The vet said it was inward, had gone towar=
ds the muscle, was about 1/4" I think in diameter, but he didn't say if it =
was diameter or length. Mugwart has healed up been fine up until today.

I got home from work, started to exercise each group. I just got him out o=
f his cage about half an hour ago (4:30pm) and noticed he didn't act right-=
didn't want to move. Thinking it was just he might be half asleep, I put h=
im on my lap and talked to him, noticed still not acting right, especially =
with the front legs. So I manipulated them, they were fine, then I found a=
nother bump, closer to the 'armpit' on the right side, just below the incis=
ion. I set him on the floor, tried to get him to walk. He didn't want to,=
so I brought him downstairs with me and set him on the floor, thinking may=
be he would then. He did walk, but he's limping terribly in the right fron=
t leg. I have him in a cage by himself now, no hammock but bedding so he w=
on't have to stress the leg. My vet is gone till Monday but he has another=
vet covering for him who is familiar with ferrets, and so I'll be taking M=
ugwart in tomorrow after work. I asked them to check his file again to see=
if anything showed up in a pathology report, and the office tech said no, =
it was just a plain cyst, nothing written that it was anything else.

I know this isn't much of a description, but do you have any idea what this=
might be? I think he was fine last night, he was down here bopping around=
for a few minutes. My great nephews came over and I had to move quickly t=
o get the fuzzies up, as the youngest is just 13 months and thinks anything=
with fur is to be grabbed. Travis, my older great nephew, helps me with t=
he ferrets, and I'll ask him when they come tonight if he noticed anything =
with Mugwart, but I don't recall him looking funny in the face like he does=
tonight, or limping. He was right there last night, ready to get out and =
play.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
