Metastasis involves the cells moving to distant locations.
It is possible that the vet missed some of the insulinoma which was already growing in other parts of the pancreas, which is incredibly easy to do. Sometimes there are a number of very tiny growths. Some vets remove a section of pancreas, and we've had a vet in the past who used sense of touch and a microscope to find some.
Also possible is that the ferret'sblood glucose may be swinging in the other direction, which is usually temporary.
What needs to be done now is to get a blood glucose reading to know what is being seen and then responding accordingly.
