It's the aromatic oils in cedar that's the problem, and not particles of cedar. Of course breathing in any kind of wood particles would not be good, but that's not the primary concern with cedar. I believe the phenols in cedar can cause liver damage.

Whether or not a room with cedar walls is a problem is another question.
