If memory serves me on the content, you will notice that pine can be a problem for specific individuals who have allergies to pine (and that has included some ferrets, though it luckily seems to be a rare allergy because some who react to it do so at dangerous levels) but cedar oils contain some potent toxins and the problem is not just an individual one.
I guess the question becomes: is your paneling strongly aromatic and is there any evidence of oil, either of which would indciate that it is still losing a lot of oil? My suspicion,given that there are OSHA warnings on cedar is that cedar needs to be aged till the aromatic oil loss decreases before it is sold for interior home use, but I honestly don't know.
