I've exchanged a private email with Cida, and she is looking for =

information about using a flexible endoscope to look into the stomach of =

her ferret Taz. There is a chance he has a hairball. He was vomiting =

and they had a barium series run, and the barium was slow to leave the =

stomach. He has had no more vomiting. He has some diarrhea and it =

responds to Pepto. Currently they are planning to do another barium =

x-ray in 20 days, and if there is still evidence of the barium staying =

in his stomach, then to think about surgery. But Cida is interested in =

an endoscopy since it is less invasive.

Has anyone done this? What size tube was used? Does anyone know if a =

flexible tube 3 mm or less exists? My only experience with endoscoping =

ferrets was with a rigid scope used to look up my ferret Nana's nose, so =

that's rather different.

Best wishes,
