Subject: Ashling: sudden blood sugar drop
Message-ID: <7080783.1065173161824.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>

Tonight is an all-nighter and I don't expect to get to sleep any
sooner than 10 a.m. Ashling had a sudden sugar drop to 54 and her
temp went down to 93.4 then her heart rate and and I think rhythm,
too, got kafluey. We got sugar and Pred into her warmed her in a
105' tub of water (Thank goodness for Raytek Minitemp thermometer
guns) and a tone point she seemed to stop breathing and beating but
they resumed after I had to do gentle cheek puffs to mouth and nose,
then a run to an emergency hospital because our vet didn't pick up so hopefully he is not away. She's home now and alert with a temp of 99+ (She
squirmed too much for them to be sure of reading.) and tomorrow we
have to call out vet to see if he is in and if not we have to get
directions to a different one and secure an emergency appointment.
Ashling has not been an insulinoma patient and she has been very
having regular check-ups and CBCs with chemistry panel since she is 6
and 5/8 years old.

Apologies: being so tired and nervous I accidentally put in the name of the emergency hospital when I first wrote -- a real no-no and I do know better. It is times like this that I wish we moderators had a setting where we could moderate ourselves, too.

If you get immediate individual mails and respond with information, please, note that the hospital name needs to comes out. Since I trashed the other it should not appear in digest if Smartgroups is working right, hence this new post.
