Hi all,
Today shortly after I got home I heard my 2 ferrets squabbling in their cage, when I lifted the blanket we use to give them more darkness it looked like on of Felix's ears was all wet. I pulled him out and felt his ear and it felt damp and he had these 2 little bluish round spots on the inside of his ear flap. I haven't noticed them before, he's a sable with light ears. I'm wondering if maybe these are hickeys from our other ferret Pippin sucking on his ears and it hurt Felix so he started crying. I've never seen Pippin suck on Felix's ears before, but I've never seen these blue spots before either. Any ideas? I realize ear sucking is a sign of adrenal, but Pippin hasn't shown any other signs, he has a vet appointment next month for his shots, so I'll keep an eye on him til then. Could these blue spots be something else? maybe a tatoo that I never noticed before? He's adopted so we don't know where he's originally from. Wouldn't ear hickey's be on both sides of the ear?
Thanks for any ideas,
Terri, Pippin and Felix
