I'm not a vet either, but my ferrets usually have some
weight gain in fall and lose it again in the spring.
Some gain more than others and it's often not at the
same time. Our male ferret went from his summer
weight of about 2.7 pounds to a winter weight of over
3 pounds last winter. He lost it all in the spring.
It never hurts to have them checked out if they "just
don't seem right" to you, though.
