No. I think you are doing the right thing asking the vet to check
her blood glucos. Many things can cause hind-end weakness but
insulinoma is the most common. In each case where one of my ferrets
showed hind-end weakness the diagnosis was insulinoma. Age five makes
it more probable too. Two of the four ferrets we have that have
developed insulinoma did so later in life (age seven or eight), with one
starting at four years old.
