no, there was definately a chewed off portion. the current theory is that she had a seizure while we were out and that caused the injury. she did favor sleeping with her little self all curled up in a ball, so i can see it. her final seizures were so extreme nothing would surprise me. what troubles me is after we found her with the tail wound and started major supportive care, she definately improved - got up for a meal even! then we lost her in the morning. :(
