Subject: Healthy ferret occasionally vomiting?

I have a very healthy 3 year old male, who is at a hearty weight. He
lately has been vomiting. The food doens't really look very much digested. I
feel like he is eating and then vomiting not long after. He has been doing this
off and on for two weeks now. Yet he has not lost any weight at all, and acts
normal.
I'd tend to think hairball?? Would he not be loosing weight though? If
it's a hair ball it must be way up high in the digetive system that the
vomited contents hardly have stomack acid in them. Can ferrets get hairballs in
their esophogus's? I have one that vomits them up yearly. I'm watching this
fella like a hawk. Before I end up taking him to his vet, I wanted to come here
and explore all options or possiblities of what could cause a healthy ferret to
vomit. I think two weeks is plenty enoug time to get rid of a "bug" if he had
the flu at all. I wanted to be aware of all causes, so that I could discuss
them with the vet whenever I go in, in the future.
