Darcy is a 4.5 year old dark eyed white female. She's been with me since sh=
e was about 6 months and has always had a healthy appetite and I've always =
used Marshall Premium Ferret Diet. About 6 months ago, her appetite decline=
d and she got progressively worse diarhea. After trying several options, my=
vet decided it was ECE (all the symptoms were right, but Barnes who spends=
all of his time with her was unafected). I hand fed with baby food and ped=
ialyte and she regained her weight, but the diarhea persisted....vet sugges=
ted an "opportunistic infection" and treated with amoxycylin(sp). the diare=
ah cleared up immediately. diareah slowly came back and weight loss, treate=
d with amoxycylin again and cleared up. The other half of the problem is he=
r eating habbits...she doesn't like anything except cheap dry catfood or ba=
byfood. Ive tried every ferret food that i could order as well as iams and =
ukanuba cat food. she will eat it when she absolutely must, but when she ge=
ts a chance to eat the cat food, she eats and eats as if she were starving.=
This wouldnt worry me except that it's a recent development...she always e=
at marshall ferret food in the past.
Any insight would be apreciated
thanks
