Thank you to everyone who emailed me to give suggestions for my little
Smudgey's last few hours.
He did die early this morning despite all of the TLC he received.
Amazingly enough, he managed to climb out of a three story cage and walk
over seventy feet to my bedroom to get my attention by digging the
carpet near his in his favorite spot behind the bureau,
I comforted him for awhile, opened the front door at 2 am and let him
smell the fresh air praying with him to either help him get better or to
have God end his suffering. Sometimes it still hurts when our prayers
are answered so quickly, he must have died right after I kissed him good
night and put him back in his bed.
