How old is the ferret, and is she sure it is ECE? I would have concerns if
there is no improvement and look at other things too, I mean it is possible
that the ferret has ECE that is not and may not respond to treatment but
look for anything else that may have an alternaive treatment, because
sometimes we as veterinarians get so fine focused that we can miss things a
nd I know everyone has been there. I had a young one I took over the case
on and it turned out there was a foreign body involved and was missed.
Despite the ferret making it thru surgery it had been so long that the
intesitnes were damaged beyound repair, so if there is any chance of
something else be sure to look for it too! Good Luck to you and Badger!
