When reading:

http://www.afip.org/ferrets/ECE/ECE.html

also be sure to read:

http://www.afip.org/ferrets/babyfood.html
(on why babyfood, which you are feeding, is the most gentle thing to
feed for ECE given the small intestinal problems it causes and how to
feed it in ways which reduce stress)

and

it's a good idea to read the liver values section of the PDF "Confusion
and..." in
http://www.afip.org/ferrets/index.html

but like the others I do have questions about the diagnosis in light of
what was said, so would appreciate a clarification because more info
might make the diagnosis make more sense.

BTW, it is best to be patient and slow with babyfood feedings.
Sometimes singing or talking softly to the ferret help. There are
further tips in the archives.
