At the two vets' offices where I've worked, we administer 1cc of oral Child=
ren's Benedryl (12.5mg/5ml solution), aka diphenhydramine.

We also recommend doing rabies and distemper vaccines at least two weeks ap=
art to lessen the chance of reaction and so we'll know which vaccine they h=
ave a reaction to if they do.

Cheers,

April

Some time ago, on several different lists, it was suggested that owners who=
had ferrets going into the vet's for distemper and/or rabies shots, pre tr=
eat with Children's
Benedryl, 30 minutes before the visit.

My question, is....what amount is to be given to the little critter? Seems=
to me, I remember 2-4 cc's."
