Hi. I am not trying to pick on anyone, but I wanted to reiterate the impor=
tance of passing along your animal's actual DOSAGE (i.e milligrams per mill=
iliter, or mg/ml) when discussing medications, versus the LIQUID AMOUNT the=
y are getting.
For example: ".20 mil 2 times a day at 7:00 and 7:00" doesn't tell us how=
many MILLIGRAMS of the drug in question the animal is getting in that 0.2 =
ml. I compound medication, and I can put 1 milligram of Prednisone into 0.=
1ml, or I can compound it such that 1 mg of Prednisone is administered in 0=
.5ml. Without knowing the mg/ml, the ml is useless.
Just a friendly reminder for folks discussing meds that will lead to more p=
roductive and accurate help for those of us with problems and questions abo=
ut our pets' health.
Cheers!
-April
