Christine also later wrote under a different subject heading so I am
carrying it to this subject heading to keep the related posts all
together in the discussion segments:
>my name is Christine and I have 4month old ferret that I got
Nov3rd/03, for the week that i've had >him he's had diahrea the whole
time, I took him to the vet yesterday and he said he had an infection
>in his lower intestines but never said what it could be from he put
him on pills called Nybril? or >something, does anyone know how a
ferret so young or of any age can get this? any side affects? >could my
other ferret who's 2 years old catch it?
>Thank a bunch Christine

My note:

Christine, find out what the vet thinks it is and what the medication
actually is. Anyone at the vet hospital can tell you the medication
name and the dose in milligrams because it will be in your ferret's
chart.

There are many possible causes of diarrhea, with some of them like
coccidea and ECE contagious.

You will find an excellent write-up on ECE at
http://www.afip.org/ferrets/ECE/ECE.html
which your vet should also read
