Here are some past posts on IBD which you might find useful.

Right now we have one ferret with IBD who no longer responds to Prednisolone but is now doing much better with injected Depo-Medrol every 3 weeks. We decided to try this before going to the heavier punch of Imuran.

Some ferrets respond to steroids, some to steroids with antibiotics, some to a change in diet to eliminate foods to which there are allergies or sensitivities. Chicken is the usual culprit, but sometimes more meats may be involved. One of our's could not tolerate any poultry except if it was processed to the level used in feline z/d.
