the influenzae virus' dont' cause intestinal symptoms.
all respiratory, plus fever and body aches. it sounds
like something else, i would have the stools checked
at least twice to look for coccidia. i am not sure why
on amox and pepto. if not conclusive as to why, i would
consider changing the pepto to carafate before meals
to help the stomach and giving a very bland diet, like
chicken baby food, warmed and fed. check with your vet first,
sub q fluids will help the older one, they can go down
hill quickly and a little dehydration can be enough to
complicate things. He may have underlying insulinoma, or kidney
issues that you don't realize and this bout of illness is just
throwing him over the edge. You may want to get a
chemistry and CBC on him.

ece causes nausea and diarrhea initially, any chance exposed to new
ferret??

dr. williams' site has a great section on feeding a sick ferret
which you can also get to from the ferret central site.

keep a close eye on the older one, vet visit and subq and bland
diet.

Hi folks. I got a flu shot last week, got sick and made most of my
ferrets sick (my rugs are a mess!). Anyway my oldest, Critter has me
worried. He's 7 1/2 years old. He stopped vomiting but his digestion
seems overly fast and he has diarrhea. I've been giving him Pepto Bismol
and Amoxicillian but it's going right through him. This morning he
literally pooped out Pepto Bismol. Does anyone have any suggestions on
what else may help? I've been assist feeding Nutrical diluted with water
to keep him hydrated and make sure he's getting some nutrients, duck soup
only makes him vomit.
