Philip is my wonderful 8 year old sable rescue who has unfortunately developed a fairly severe heart condition.

After having an echocardiogram his cardiologist placed him on 3 meds: lasix bid, cardizem every other day, and enacard the alternate days. This was about 4 months ago, and he definitly feels better, but the lasix really seems to be getting to his stomach. He's develped liquidy poops, and has a lot of gas.

I put him on Biaxin for a week, thinking he might be developing an ulcer, but that didn't help. I have just switched him to injectible furosemide instead of the liquid, and am going to sneak some carafate into his food.

Anybody have have any other suggestions??? I have been threatening to get the dreaded "nasty pink goop" aka Pepto-Bismal out, but Phil will head for the hills if he so much as sees that bottle.

Philly Poodle Paws' tummy thanks you for your assistance.
