Subject: Question about adrenal disease and diabetes

O.K., I have officially bored everyone with
my diabetes questions. But in response to previous
questions several people mentioned adrenal disease.
My ferret with diabetes has no overt adrenal signs,
but did have anemia and diabetes so I am considering
getting the Tennessee Panel done. Now, my question.
Wouldn't the cortisol producing tumor cause diabetes
by producing insulin resistance?

My ferret's insulin level was zero. So, I am thinking
it is true diabetes not from adrenal disease and
a high cortisol level. Would this assumption be correct?

I just don't want to waste any money, but really want
to find a cause of the diabetes.
