Sorry to hear about your ferrets condition.
As for how do we treat autoimmune hemoltic
anemia (also called immune mediated hemolytic
anemia), Pred for 2-3 months then slowly taper off.
It is hard to tell how much (mg) of pred you are giving,
but 1-2 mg/kg bid may be needed. Imuran or cytoxan
are sometimes needed in addition to pred. Blood
transfusions or Oxyglobin can be used to help stabilize
the ferret if needed.
