Hello everyone,

I need your help. I took three of my ferrets to have their teeth cleaned on Tuesday (did three days of antibiotics beforehand). Brought all ferrets home that evening - all seemed a little sleepy (normal). My two females were completely ok the next day. My 2.5 yo angora male was NOT. Normally he is very active and spastic and just a real doll. He was extremely lethargic and did not eat, drink or move. Wouldn't even eat Nutrical (his favorite) or treats. Took to vet next day and vet gave fluids and we went home. No change in status. Not eating, drinking or moving very much at all. Don't see him urinating or defecating. Dropped off at vet this morning. Blood work came back with some problems (waiting on exact details and more tests), but red blood cell production very low (19 instead of normal 45). They are force feeding him and giving fluids, -- only a small change in his movements (moving around wee bit more).

Has anyone ever had a reaction to isoflorine (sp?) in this way? Please help, I'm petrified he's going to die. I could just vomit that it was an elective procedure. I will NEVER have my ferrets teeth cleaned again.

HELP!!! I raised him from a very wee tot and I can't imagine life without him. How can I help him?

Thanks very much for your help,

Lisa
