Normosol R is pretty much the same as Lactated Ringers overall. LRS has
Lactates in them which may or may not be a problem so some vets started
using Normosol in place of LRS. This was the case at a clinic I previously
worked at and it is fine to use. I guess there were some anectdodal reports
that something in the LRS may increase the likelihood of some cancers in
older cats I never saw this info but my employer had gone to a lecture that
this was noted in so he switched. It is fine to use it, you will have no
problems.
