Okay, if it is not expired you can use Prednisolone instead of Pred, but check with the vet or the pharmacy which provided the drug to make sure it is still good and to check the dose.

When a med is needed then the med is just plain needed. Take Ashling as an illustration, If she had persented gradually we could have begun Pred and she would not have almost died almost 8 weeks ago from the blood sugar drop. We got lucky and she made it, but if she'd had signs and the med had been started beforehand (so that no emergency ever happened) that would have been luckier still. No reason to court danger unless it is for an incredible reward, like doing something the person has always wanted to do.
