I have taken what looked like an eraser fro on intestine Routine films wont'
tell. need Barium. The one J had was sick for 2 weeks, being seen by
another, by the time I got the case I took her to surgery, she was only 10
months old. The intestines were very easily torn and in a sense really
sick. The surgery went fine and she survived the night but then died 24
hours later. I truly felt that if this was done when she first came in, se
would have survived it all very well. Ferrets don't typically vomit so yes
depression, loss of appetite, nausea and no BM or small ones, are all
reasons for a visit to the vet. Please watch them close, I felt really bad
about that ferret because I believe it didn't have to die. I followed up
with her only because her primary doctor was out of town and I hospitalized
diagnosed and went into surgery with her on a Saturday (right before a
holiday). I had bad out comes in preventable diseases. Good Luck and watch
carefully.
