Our family adopted a neutered male around 18 months ago to replace an earlier escapee. At the time, we thought the adoptee was around 6 months old, however, we are now wondering if he isn't a little older.
We are now entering summer in Australia and Fezzo has shed his winter coat and is growing his new summer suit. His new summer suit includes something different this summer though - lots of stiff grey hairs mingled in with his usual sable coat at the base of his hind legs.
Can anyone advise the significance of this? Is he actually a much older ferret or can this hair colouration occur at any age?
