Wow, Robin, I feel so bad for you. I've only had trouble with aggression
towards other ferrets once..... and I'll never forget my frustration over
that. It took a year to incoperate the aggressor with the one it picked on. To
reduce my stress, I finally told myself.... that they will never be
friends.... that it happens and its okay. Then I just fell into a routine of having
seperate play groups. I think the tension eased in the house a little. We
did'nt do anything special other than the fact that they had cages next to each
other, and continued with blanket exchanges. Once in a while we'd introduce
them. One day it just worked, for no apparent reason.
For others more experienced in this area, it would help if you told us
the ages of all three ferrets, and if all are neutered, and if any were late or
recent neuters. Also, is there any chance that any of them have early signs
of adrenal.
Although being deaf might not cause your problem, I imagine that the deaf
aggressor might be a bit more difficult to break as he cannot hear the other
one scream (or you scream lol). It sounds like you are doing things right.
But at times it takes lots of time. And it also takes consistency. So use
that bitter apple every time and be firm with whatever you do discipline wise
every time. I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I hope I helped a
little. But even more so, I hope others here can help you better.
