Barnes as a male, just under 5 years old. He's always been really healthy. He has been sleeping a lot lately (he's always slept more than the others so it went unnoticed at first). I took him to the vet. The x-rays showed something odd...turned out to be an extremely large spleen. and there were several small tumors on his pancreas. The vet biopsied one of them. According to my vet, there isn't anything to be done because when it isn't caught until it becomes symtomatic, it has virtually always metastasized (i know i spelled that wrong). He didn't even mention the option of a partial pancrectomy, only treating with pred and he doesn't seem hopefull...
Is there more to this? is a pancrectomy a viable option ? how can i determine if it is ? How soon after the exploratory could it be done ?
thanks for the help.
