Oh Sukie ...
Thanks for all the infos ... I'm on the FHL Archives for a while now ... but I'm still worried ...
Cookie has really a marking behavior ... He just does the same thing like in May 2003. I saw him twice today ... he just put a little drop of urine at specific places ... There is no urine bad smell, no problem to go to the bathroom ... I forgot to mention that he seems to drink more water too .
He was up 8 to 10 this morning ... it's 1:45 am, he's still sleeping ... just waking up for itching and go back to sleep ...
I've seen this "itching pattern" last June too, it's really "persistent" just on the shoulders area. First, I thought like you "heating" but there is no change in his environment, never seen that itching behavior last 2 "Fall/Winter" periods.
For his fur, hairs are not very long, and it looks "dull" too ... but I thought it was because it's his first shedding period since the surgery. Last guards hairs are growing now ... but when I gently pull on the undercoat white hairs ... they fall ! I took notes and the undercoat hairs had already fallen in October ... That's why I'm so worried ...

If not, then trust the vets' assumptions of their own limitations and go with the sorts of medical approaches which Dr. Jerry Murray has detailed. (Use subject lines like Lupron and put AFERRETVET in the "from" box in the FHL Archives at
