Subject: Angora and missing undercoat?

We have some friends that would like to use their angora hob to a litter. But they have heard that with german shepherd (dog) you should not mix a short hair and a long hair. the reason for this is that some of the puppies will miss their undercoat. Does this also happens with ferrets ?.
Can a feret with no undercoat survive or will it die because they can not keep warm ?
