I've heard others saying the same thing as you from your experience: that their experience is that the angoras are no less prone to tumors.
Anyway, the info on the malformations in angoras was presented complete with photos by some members of the Ferret-Genetics list either late last year or early this year. Some had misshapen skulls but I can't recall off-hand in what ways, and some had or also had misshapen nostrils, even ones which appeared to be greatly closed off.
I've read somewhere (there?) (here?) (FML?) (other?) someone's note that the writer had experienced an increased number of respiratory infections in angoras. I can't recall ever finding out if those particular individuals had mishappen nostrils or nostrils that were unable to drain properly. Certainly closed off nostrils can increase upper respiratory infections which in turns can at times increase lower respiratory infections.
There's something else niggling at the back of my mind which I think might be something else which shows up but I can't remember at all what I read on that score.
