Thanks again to EVERYONE ... (on and off list)
I hope you have all received your private reply ...
I'm still waiting for "vets" calls ...
My actual vet thinks that Cookie's symptoms are strange and look like Adrenal but for the itching problem he asked me to try an antipruritic shampoo "Epi-Soothe" once a week (?).
Like all of us did once I'm sure, he thinks that's maybe related to the heating or to allergies. Cookie had tried the shampoo this morning ...
I told my vet I've seen Cookie "marking" twice at specific places, less hair on his red feet, undercoat falls again (even on his belly), sleeping much more (he's up 2 hours/day)... Before give him Lupron, he wants to be sure. He said he has many patients on Lupron and it works well. He said he totally agrees with Dr Rosenthal. If Cookie was his ferret, he wouldn't do the right gland surgery ... (too many risks during and after). He said that 2 other vets over here do the R adrenal. But if he was in my situation, and if it's adrenal, he just would't do it.
So, That's my update for today ... We'll wait and see ...
Linda and Cookie XXX
A Silly Question ???
Can a ferret who had an L Adrenal gland surgery ...
"shed" after his surgery ? If hairs are growing back some must fall ...
So, Cookie had his surgery last August 06, maybe his hormonal system has gave him a new fur ... and now he begins his shedding period ? I Mean he'll shed twice this Fall, is this possible ?
