"When I asked about the pred he told me it lowered BG and Koda's problem w=
as he had too low BG (58) and we needed to keep it higher and pred would do=
the opposite of what we wanted. But all I ever read about is that people u=
se pred to control symptoms of insulinoma any information on what pred does=
would be helpful
Thank you"

Yep-pred is used in ferrets with insulinoma to keep their blood glucose lev=
els UP. I don't know where your vet got his info, but my Marley is on pred=
for his insulinoma (he also had a partial pancreatectomy last spring, but =
had to go back on pred), and his BGs have been much higher on the pred, and=
he is doing quite well.
