The dreaded ferret attack squeak :) Funny sound, that. We've heard it a
few times, mainly when Ker Avon was defending something that was HIS.

OK, on the more serious note, aggressiveness can be a sign of a health
problem. For example, it is one symptom of adrenal disease. If he has any
other symptoms (weight loss, hair loss, difficulty urinating/prostate
problems, sexual behaviour) I would ask your vet to consider that
possibility. There are other possible reasons as well.

Also, did anything change in his environment to make him more
territorial/posessive?
