I began to notice some aggression in my angora ferret Scooby at age 3.
Although he didn't go after other ferrets viciously, he began to play
rougher and became amorous of the females, and for that matter me too. We
called him Pepe Le Pew because the girls would run like hell and he would
just trot behind them until he would catch them and make them scream. He
would also chew (politely) on my fingers and sort of cluck at the same time.
He was very into this behavior and it kind of equated to him "making love to
me" (ha ha ha). Then he lost hair at the base of his tail and I knew. We
had to remove one adrenal. A year later, we had to remove the other. He
went on Percotin and Pred. After two or three Percortin shots, he became
sick so we ultimately took him off the Percortin and just on Pred every
three days. He did well for about a year and a half. He died at the
beginning of October, 2003. I've heard lots of people say they become
amorous after the adrenals are out, but in our case it was the opposite.
