Subject: Sudden loss of use of one leg

Hi, everyone,

As I write this Keith is rushing Podo to the emergency clinic. Podo has
no use of his right rear leg. He's holding it straight out and it
cannot support his weight. If he makes any attempt to stand he falls.

This isn't his insulinoma. He acts more like he has a broken leg
except that the leg is not tender to the touch. He was active and just
fine a little while ago. His left rear leg is fine.

Podo is very agitated, of course, and has pooped in place twice. I held
him and his little heart was racing. Holding him did seem to comfort
him some.

Keith will call me by cell phone from the emergency vet office. Does
anyone have clues about what this could be? The vet on duty tonight is
not the one I really trust and ideas could be helpful in getting a
correct diagnosis.

All the best,
Caity and the seven worried weasels
