Hi all
Taz is having surgery this Friday to remove a large growth. We are a little
worried because the last baby we had in for surgery died several hours after we
brought him home. The vet told us the only thing we could have done diffrently
was to have had a heating pad for him to sleep on while he was recovering that
night. Does anyone else use heating pads for recovery? If so how do you use
them do you cover them with blankets? How high a setting do you use? What
does the heating pad do to help with recovery?
Thanks
Jen
[Moderator's note: Because of the potential for burns and for fire always check
with your VET AND THE HEATING PAD MANUFACTURER for any use which may
involve covering, enclosing, puncturing, etc. There IS a potential for dangerous
risk and that is why we use gel or rice heating pads. I think that the Ferret
Mailing List Archives even has instructions for making rice ones and that some
shelters and retailers sell both kinds. We used one type for Chiclet with fine
success.]
