Hi,
I've had one of the terrible bugs that has been going around. Two of my kids
had it and while caring for them I got it.
Needless to say that the critters around here did not get the usual amount of
attention they normally receive. We've been fighting this since the day after
Thanksgiving.
My question is... since getting back on my feet and trying to make up for
some lost time one of my female ferrets has lost a fair amount of weight. She
also seems to be shedding more than normal. She is in with other ferrets and I
have noticed her eating but not as much.
I'm going to make an appt with the vet but wanted to get some thoughts while
I'm waiting to get in.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I am taking Sammy to the
vet tomorrow afternoon. He has been doing this coughing,gag like
heavy swallowing thing. I am not sure what it is...I think that it
has something to do with his pulminary adema but I can not be for
sure. He is on a lasix but that does not seem to be helping much. He
still has normal stools and is urinating fine. He is a little bit
more sleepy than usual. He is still somewhat active but after a few
minutes or so he is ready to go to sleep.
Any one with a ferret with heart disease has your ferret done this?
Or should I be looking at another cause?
