I am sorry to hear that, he is certainly very young. The heart disease causes the pulmonary edema which is back up of fluids into the lungs, as the lungs fill up with fluid it gets harder to breath.
You can see if a cardiologist is accesible where you are, get the ferret a cardiac ultrasound to confirm diagnosis, if not done already.
But until then your vet can put him on a medication to get fluid out of the lungs, and another to help the heart.
If you check out the archives under cardiomyopathy, enlarged heart, pulmonary edema, or heart disease you should find a lot of good information on it and the meds used.
