Lysodren USED to be used, but was mostly dropped due to problems. You can actually find a lot about its past use in assorted archives.

For some ferrets it just didn't work (possibly because adrenal disease in ferrets is not like Cushings -- another thing which can be looked up in archives for detail explanatiojns of the differences), while in some it caused suc serious adrenal atrophy that Addison's Crises would result.

Back when there weren't alternatives Lysodren was an approach to consider, but these days there are better options.

I CAN say that the combo of Lysodren and Prednisone was useful for a protracted time (over a year) for a ferret of our's over 10 years back who at an advanced age had lymphoma which was based partly in an adrenal gland, but that is not your typical adrenal case and even then he may perhaps have been unusual. BUT -- he DID wind up Addisonian down the road since it atrophied his healthy gland and his bad one came out later... (Thank goodness for Florinef, Pred, and experimentation.)

To begin you can start looking in

I do NOT know if o.p-DDD Mitotane Lysodren differs from Lysodren; if so, I am curious to learn, also.
