Stories from several owners would suggest that small amounts of
chocolate won't harm them. In other words, don't panic, but taking
your ferret to the vet for monitoring would be a good idea. There
isn't much else you can do at home but watch your ferret for signs of
distress.

In general, you should try to keep chocolate away from your ferrets,
but it seems they can eat a little bit without harm. This may vary by
individual though.

Chocolate contains a stimulant (theobromine, related to caffeine)
which can over-stimulate some animals, basically causing heart
failure.
