First of all K/D is too low in protein for ferrets. Why was he put on it?
The comatose condition is probably related to low blood sugar, and that does
not need to be from insulinoma but from inability to absorb nutrients or not
eating due to his illness. The fever is a problem if it is not resolving, I
think the clavamox is a good choice provided it does not cause vomitng. I
would try using a higher protein lower fat food. Ferrets are true
carnivores and req higher protein, even more then cats do. If you limit the
carbs abd increase the protein it may help him feel better. Do not know is
the diarrhea is main prblem or not, but if he has clostridial overgrowth the
clavamox should help. How old is he? Another food that helps with
intestial problems which is prescription diet is IVD Select Care Neutral
formula. If you get more info let us know and perhaps we could help more.
I never rule out obstruction because partials can happen but that should be
seen on barium depending on how many films are taken and how far apart they
are. Good Luck and hope this helps. Merry Christmas.
