I'd continue giving sugars 'round the clock until the seizures can be
controlled without it. (Foaming without stronger symptoms can be a
smaller seizure. With a large seizure the body convulses and there can
also be screaming which is caused by air being forced out not from pain
because the ferret is not conscious in a large seizure. In a large
seizure the teeth may gnash and clamp down, too, so keep fingers out of
mouth during them.)

For some ferret Prednisone isn't utilized well. We've had some for
whom it may as well have been water. Ask your vet about switching to
Prednisolone which skips the liver processing step. For many ferrets
that works much better.

Proglycem doesn't work for all, but is worth a trial through a
compounding pharmacy. See:
http://www.smartgroups.com/vault/ferrethealth/ReferenceShelf/ . When
it works it can work very well in conjunction with Prenisolone. When
those don't work on their own any longer we make sweet beverages and
other sweets available 'round the clock to help keep blood glucose
levels up and that sometimes gives a decent chunk of extra quality
time.

Have you considered surgery?
