Subject: Help!! Is it diareah or constipation??

A friend of mine was saying the same thing
about her 6 year old ferret , a female, that was straining a lot
and passing gas. She assumed constipated or a blockage and
was giving a lot of ferretlax. It ended up being a urinary blockage
from a complication of adrenal disease.

I would be looking at this as a possibility as well.
Urinary blockage can be life threatening and is much more
common in males than females, a vet could
try to palpate the bladder and see if it is quite large
and perhaps try to express urine and see if any relief.

I may be off here, but I have not seen a constipated ferret unless
we are talking about a blockage in the intestines.
