Hello

I have a 3 1/2 yr old female, black eyed white ferret.

For the last 2 months this ferret had lost fur on her tail and hind quarters, thinning hair on the sides. A little itchy.

In her first year (00)she was very thin and had occasional projectile throwing up. Other than that she was active. The vet exam indicated nothing out of the normal. She gained weight then.

Last Sat, she was down an oz from that '00 weight. She was thought to have perhaps adrenal and/or a tumor. I have been feeding her chicken baby food along with her normal food. This morning, I had her weighed and she hadn't gain any weight, lost another oz. Though this could have been because another tech weighed her.

She was opened up and both her glands are normal and their isn't any tumor, she looks normal. The vet has scheduled a consult with on Weds with a specialist.

I am now going to try duck soup and any other suggestions to fatten her up. She will probably have blood work done after the consult.

So any suggestions with fattening her up or what illness she could be having since it isn't a tumor or adrenal cancer.

thanks
angel
